Frequently Asked Questions
What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is SU's annual 24-hour giving challenge! Sea Gulls around the world- alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends – come together to support and celebrate the schools, programs, and causes that are important to us, helping them earn matching funds. When you give on Giving Day, Tuesday, April 7, your gift goes further!
How do I make a gift?
On April 7, 2026: Visit givingday.salisbury.edu. Select your gift amount, specify the school, program, or cause that you are most passionate about, then complete the giving form!
Can I give to more than one area in the same transaction?
Yes! On Giving Day, select the "Give" button in the top right-hand corner. Select as many causes as you would like from the left side of the pop-up form. Once selected, causes will be listed in your cart on the right side. Edit the amount for each cause as desired. Select "Next" to enter payment info and complete your SU gift as one single credit card transaction.
What is the Judkins "match" or matching gift?
Two generous alumni donors will match all student and alumni gifts 1:1 (up to $50) to the same area of campus. Unrestricted gifts will be matched to the Judkins Family Scholarship.
One match per individual donor. The credit card used must be under the name of the donor making the gift to qualify for the match.
Where do the matching gift and challenge gifts come from?
Challenge funds for Giving Day 2026 are made possible by generous alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the University.
Can I create a match or challenge gift?
Yes! Any generous supporter can pledge a leadership gift to encourage others to support a specific program, organization, or cause on campus. To learn more, please contact Michelle Pryor, director of annual giving, at mrpryor@salisbury.edu.
Where does my gift go?
You decide! Your gift may be to the University's area of greatest need or the academic department, organization, or athletic program that means the most to you. Whatever area you choose, the match for your gift will go to the same area.
If I've already given this year, should I give again?
Yes! Many gifts on April 7, 2026 will be matched. Please consider a second gift on this day to double your impact for SU students.
If my spouse and I each make a gift, will they both be counted?
Yes! For alumni and students, each individual will have their first gift matched up to $50. Other matching gifts apply to all individual donors.
Can I set up a recurring gift on Giving Day?
Because SU’s Giving Day does not fall on the same date each year, we do not recommend creating a recurring gift as a way to participate each year. The Giving Day site is separate from SU's year-round giving site. If you would like to set up a recurring gift, please use SU's year-round gift site. We are always grateful to our recurring donors!
How can I help?
Help spread the word via e-mail and social media! Follow the SU Alumni Association on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share updates with friends or use the materials in our online tool kit - found in the Get Involved tab!
