GIVING DAY PROFILE:
SU Poms Dance Team
Raised $3,210 from 61 donors
What a performance SU Poms Dance Team had for Giving Day 2025! As Salisbury’s spirited dance squad, Poms brings energy and excitement to football and lacrosse halftimes, elevating school spirit and creating an unforgettable game-day atmosphere. For their first-ever Giving Day push, the team raised $3,210 from 61 supporters, including a $250 matching gift from a proud Poms parent.
The leadership team dove headfirst into fundraising, partnering with SU’s advancement staff to develop a marketing plan, refresh their giving site with photos and funding priorities, and share personal appeals on social media and alumni networks. They even launched a Facebook group to bring together parents, alumni, and team members, making it easier to connect and communicate. Their efforts paid off, energizing their supporters and helping Poms shine on Giving Day.
Funds raised will directly reduce uniform and pom-pom costs for dancers, cover team sweatsuits, and support meaningful bonding experiences like team meals. In past years, Giving Day gifts have already provided sweatshirts, backpacks, athletic tank tops, and more, making a tangible difference in how the team showcases Salisbury University.
Club president Gwen Weeks summed it up best: “Thank you so much for supporting the SU Poms Dance Team on Giving Day! Your generosity helps us reduce costs for our dancers, fund team gear, and create meaningful team bonding experiences. We’re so grateful for your support in helping us continue to grow, perform, and represent Salisbury with pride.”
Giving Day was not just a fundraiser, but a way for SU Poms to showcase their passion, teamwork, and determination to build a legacy. Thanks to the funds raised from donors, families, and alumni, SU’s Poms Dance Team is ready to keep dancing, cheering, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
