Description

Give to Henson Medical Simulation Center on Giving Day and help us reach our total goal of $2530!

We are in need of two medical device simulators so that students feel more physically and psychologically immersed in near-real-world clinical situations. The Innov2Learn fingertip pulse oximeter ($750.00) and the simulated Welch Allyn Suretemp Plus 690 thermometer ($1,780.00) will help accelerate our students’ transition to real-world patient care.

When students place the Innov2Learn fingertip pulse oximeter on a manikin or standardized patient, scenario-specific blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate measurements can be pushed to and viewed on the pulse oximeter screen. Similarly, when students place The Innov2Learn oral thermometer probe into a standardized patient or manikin’s mouth the simulated Welch Allyn Suretemp Plus 690 thermometer will display scenario-specific temperature values (C or F).

The principal use of simulation-based training in preprofessional heath care education is to provide learners with the highest fidelity, near-real-world clinical scenarios possible.

Henson Medical Simulation Center
