Brandon L. Ennis Memorial Scholarship

Give today to the Brandon L. Ennis Memorial Scholarship to support accounting majors demonstrating academic excellence at Salisbury University.

Brandon Ennis was a December, 2005 graduate of Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.9 grade point average. After graduation he passed the Uniform CPA Examination and embarked on a career in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Baltimore where he ascended to the position of Senior Manager. He then joined the Ernst & Young, LLP Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) Practice in Tysons, VA as a senior manager. All told, Brandon had over 13 years of experience in public accounting.

In late 2019, Brandon relocated back to the Eastern Shore and in February 2020 took on the position of CEO at Lower Shore Enterprises, Inc. As noted on the organization’s website, “Lower Shore Enterprises, Inc. prepares adults with developmental disabilities for employment and community integration. We envision a community where people with disabilities are more broadly valued, hired by employers, receiving support, and participating in community activities”. When he joined LSE, Brandon stated "It is great to be back home on the Eastern Shore and I am extremely enthusiastic about beginning this new endeavor with Lower Shore Enterprises. The mission of LSE is one that I am passionate about and I am confident that my years of leadership experience in both the public and private sector will aid me in navigating the organization through upcoming challenges and uncertainties as a result of the changing regulatory landscape.” Professor Ken Smith, who taught Brandon and maintained contact with him over the years, regarded Brandon’s hire as a boon to the organization, stating that his “extensive technical accounting and business knowledge, coupled with his amiable personality and finely honed managerial skills, make him the right person at the right time to lead LSE”. It was a job unlike his previous positions in the corporate world, and he quickly developed an affection for his co-workers and all the individuals who LSE strives to help.

With great sadness we learned that Brandon passed away suddenly on November 18, 2020 at his home in Salisbury at the age of 37. As noted in his obituary, he was an avid sports fan and golfer, and he had a love of music. He was devoted to his young son and family, and he was a charismatic individual with a great sense of humor.

Brandon’s devotion to SU was evident by his efforts to hire SU accounting grads during his tenure at the Big-4 accounting firms, and his service of the Department of Accounting & Legal Studies Advisory Board. In his honor we have established a scholarship in his name to be used to support high achieving students with financial need. Please consider making a donation to support this scholarship.

Brandy Starkey Terrill Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Brandy Terrill, 47, of Berlin, passed away peacefully at her home with loved ones by her side on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She fought hard to beat an aggressive liver cancer that was detected in September 2020, but had no fear because her faith was taking her home. Brandy was born in Baltimore, but spent her life in Salisbury and Berlin, Md.

Brandy graduated from Parkside High School in 1991. Her love of education took her to Salisbury University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1994 and her master’s degree in education in 2000. Driven to succeed, Brandy earned her doctorate at the University of Delaware in Curriculum, Technology and Higher Education in 2011. Brandy began her teaching career at The Salisbury School before returning to Salisbury University as a lecturer in 2005. She advanced to the rank of Associate Professor in the Department of Early and Elementary Education.

Brandy’s professional passion was in integrating the arts into the classroom. In 2019, she was awarded the Faculty Appreciation Award for the Seidel School of Education. This was a particular point of pride, as it is an award voted on by former students. Brandy impacted many lives via her creative teaching style, with many students thanking her for her contribution to their success.

This memorial scholarship has been created in Brandy’s name to support education majors in their final internship year, as she loved supervising interns in local schools. Please give today to remember Brandy's legacy and support future educators.
