Housing & Residence Life

Hello SU Residence Life family!

I hope this message finds you well and reminiscing about your time with us. As we look back on your support this past year, we're reminded of the connection that exists between all of us in the Res Life family.

Last year, your incredible generosity on Giving Day played a pivotal role in supporting our programs. Thanks to your contributions, RA training kicked off in the fall with Camp Pecometh, providing our undergraduate staff with an invaluable experience that sets the tone for their roles on campus. This tradition, established years ago with Outward Bound, and rooted in outdoor adventure and personal growth, has been sustained through your support. Despite budget constraints, your collective donations have sent a message of the value you place on the RA experience and the importance of fostering a supportive community within our halls. This training experience not only assists Res Life staff at SU, but helps them well into their professional careers and personal lives. Exploring our personal limits remains the launching pad for RA training here at Salisbury and our collective donations tell others that you would like to see this tradition continue.

This Giving Day 2024 is our chance to shine again!

  • Jenny M’99 and Jeff Orzolek have challenged fellow SU HRL alums to give. The Orzolek’s are pledging $1,000 to Residence Life if we reach 50 individual donors! Anything helps us reach our goal even as little as $5, $10, $20 or more!

  • Tim Cureton and Noah Kegley, of Rise Up Coffee Roasters, will match $1,000 of HRL gifts and have challenged fellow SU Lifers to give whatever you can share.

  • Finally, there is a very generous donor who has promised to match your alumni gift up to $50.00. Your $50 becomes $100!

If you are able to give, please know I intend to once again use any funds for Housing and Residence Life on this Giving Day to subsidize Camp Pecometh for your 2024-2025 Residence Life Family.

With the humblest of hearts,

Dave Gutoskey

Ice Hockey

Give to Ice Hockey on Giving Day!

Salisbury University Ice Hockey has been a proud tradition since 1992. The players are serious athletes with the intention of competing at the highest level. The team holds an average of two-three games every weekend and plays a season consisting of around 20 games, a tournament showcase, and finally ending with an intense post-season single elimination playoffs. In addition to being a talented group of athletes, this club is also a family supporting each other both on and off the field.

A gift today to the Ice Hockey Club will provide funds for a new set of home and away jerseys to properly outfit the players. It will inspire a renewed sense of spirit as the students improve as athletes and continue to be successful. The team says new jerseys will allow them to properly represent Salisbury University in a clean, professional manner. Your gift, combined with others, will make a difference.

Fostering Innovation and Creativity: Information systems is a rapidly evolving field that thrives on innovation and creativity. By donating to the club, you empower students to explore new ideas, experiment with emerging technologies, and collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital world.

Building a Stronger Community: Supporting the Information Systems Connect Club contributes to the sense of community within Perdue School and the broader information systems industry. Your donation helps foster a supportive environment where students can learn from each other, share experiences, and contribute to the collective advancement of the field.

International Rome Program

Give to International Rome Program on Giving Day!

SU Theatre Department's unique International program in Rome is a transformative experience for our students. With a one-of-a-kind partnership with the Superintendent for Cultural Heritage for the city of Rome, students gain exclusive access to ancient sites, guided visits by experts, and the opportunity to perform on-location for experiential learning at its best.

As a state institution, SU has a rich variety of students from every walk of life. Many of these students cannot, however, afford to study abroad and attain the advantages that come with such an experience. By giving generously, you will reduce the cost of the program overall with savings passed on directly to every student who attends to provide many deserving students this experience of a lifetime!

International Studies

What is an international studies major? The international studies major is designed for students who seek a broad course of study focusing on the modern world that is different from traditional academic settings. Our program encourages students to view the world from different perspectives and consider social, political, economic, historical and cultural processes, power relations and linkages that connect individuals, communities, states, and regions.

We educate students in understanding the world outside the United States so that they can better serve as informed citizens in a democratic society and also as professionals in careers spanning national boundaries. To expand their horizons, we encourage a foreign academic experience for our students, and all students in this major must demonstrate proficiency in a non-English language.

Students work with a major advisor to choose courses on a specific region of the world or an international topic as a program of study.
