Fulton School of Liberal Arts

Give to Fulton School of Liberal Arts on Giving Day!

The Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts is the largest and most diverse of Salisbury University's four endowed schools. Its 13 departments embrace academic disciplines in the visual and performing arts, humanities, and social sciences. In addition to our strengths in these disciplines, the Fulton School offers a number of majors and minors in interdisciplinary and applied fields. The well-rounded education that our students receive during their time at SU is a direct result of the experience they obtain in the Fulton School.

Your gift to the Fulton School of Liberal Arts or its departments, will make an impact in several areas, such as reducing student debt after graduation, much-needed improvements to aging classrooms and student research support, just to name a few. To make a gift to specific department simply list the departments name in the instructions section. Your gift, combined with others, will make a difference.

Fulton Sustainability Committee

The Fulton Sustainability Committee at Salisbury University is committed to advancing sustainability education and action within the Fulton School, the broader SU community, and beyond. Established in 2008, the committee recognizes the vital role the liberal arts play in understanding sustainability challenges and developing solutions for a more sustainable future. Through academic initiatives, campus programs, and community engagement, the committee fosters meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences that empower students to become environmental leaders.

A key initiative of the committee is the annual “Changing Climate/Changing World” lecture series, a public event and one-credit course that brings together experts, faculty, and community activists to explore pressing sustainability topics such as food systems, economic inequality, and climate change. Geiser-Simpson Winds of Change Advocacy Endowment

Winds of Change was born as a result of the Geiser family’s personal journey and passion to Break the Silence surrounding child abuse. In 2013, following the disclosure of a loved one, the family’s eyes were quickly and painfully opened to this silent epidemic. It was during the trauma and healing of the weeks and months following that day that the Geiser family realized that although they couldn’t change the past, they could use their experience to help others.

The purpose of the Winds of Change Advocacy Endowment is to support training and education of practitioners, students and community members through the Salisbury University’s Center for Healthy Communities. Child abuse advocacy and awareness are supported through workforce development, professional continuing education, and partner engagement via community service and community-based learning. All it takes is one person willing to do their part in breaking the silence in order to make a difference in a child’s life forever. Please consider making a gift today.

Gerald A. Elkins Award

The Gerald A. Elkins Internship Award was established through the SU Foundation, Inc., to honor Gerald Elkins, the late husband of SU Chief of Staff Amy Hasson. “I thought it was important to offer SU students an urban planning experience, while also honoring Gerald's legacy,” Hasson said. “What better place to do so than in Baltimore City Planning, one of the best planning departments in the country, and the place where we met and spent so many years working among smart, creative and visionary colleagues. Gerald would be so pleased and proud to know that we have introduced a student to the place and occupation he loved so well, just as Gerald's high school art teacher did so many years ago.”

This endowed internship award affords a Geography major who has demonstrated academic success and leadership skills the opportunity to explore a career in urban planning and mapping with the Baltimore City Planning Department. This award is made in honor of Gerald Elkins, a dedicated planning and mapping professional in the City’s Planning Department for more than 40 years. Make your gift today in memory of Gerald Elkins to impact an SU Geography student's life.
