First Gen Sea Gull Scholars Program

First-Gen Sea Gull Scholars (FGSGS) supports students who are the first in their families to attend college, providing resources to help them succeed at Salisbury University. Aligned with President Dr. Carolyn Ringer Lepre’s commitment to student success, FGSGS focuses on recruitment, retention, and building a sense of belonging.

Through mentorship, academic support, and community-building, the program helps students achieve higher GPAs and engage more in campus resources, while also increasing first-to-second-year retention and improving graduation rates.

Fitness Wellness is designed to help students increase their knowledge, behaviors, and skills related to personal wellness in the context of the dimensions of wellness. Topics covered include stress management, healthy eating, weight management, fitness, environmental sustainability, interpersonal wellness, and substance abuse/misuse, as well as prevention of chronic and communicable diseases.

Food for the Flock

Our mission is to combat social stigma by providing quality and nutritious foods for students at Salisbury University experiencing food insecurity in a judgment-free space." We would love this pantry to be a community effort and your support will help purchase food and materials to operate the pantry for students in need. We will be purchasing nonperishable food from the Maryland Food Bank.

Coach Mike McGlinchey is revered for the dedication he had to his players both on and off the field. He was loved and highly respected by students, athletes, faculty, staff, and members of the community at large for his unmatched intensity, discipline, and commitment to excellence. He shaped the confidence and character of hundreds of young student-athletes, extending beyond the sport itself, and upheld this commitment through the end of his life.

He embodied the spirit of overcoming adversity, rising to one’s maximum potential and never fearing to take on greater challenges. His passion motivated athletes to attain a level of performance they otherwise would not have envisioned; and through his integrity, character, and legacy, he stands as a strong role model for coaches and student-athletes at Salisbury University. Mike McGlinchey passed away in 1997 after a long fight with ALS.

All the proceeds from the Coach Mike McGlinchey Endowment will help fund coaching positions and professional development opportunities for new coaches looking to advance in the profession.Take this opportunity to honor the impact Coach McGlinchey has had on so many lives over the years and make your gift today!

The Fulton Public Humanities Program (FPHP) exists to support, organize, and develop academic programs and events that promote public awareness and understanding of marginalized groups, moments, and events in history (up to the present). It provides opportunities for programs that possess curricular and academic value in the recovery, commemoration, and study of human experience in all its complex diversity using the unique methods and core perspectives of the Humanities.

The Fulton Sustainability Committee at Salisbury University is committed to advancing sustainability education and action within the Fulton School, the broader SU community, and beyond. Established in 2008, the committee recognizes the vital role the liberal arts play in understanding sustainability challenges and developing solutions for a more sustainable future. Through academic initiatives, campus programs, and community engagement, the committee fosters meaningful discussions and hands-on experiences that empower students to become environmental leaders.

A key initiative of the committee is the annual “Changing Climate/Changing World” lecture series, a public event and one-credit course that brings together experts, faculty, and community activists to explore pressing sustainability topics such as food systems, economic inequality, and climate change.
